How I Make My Pants

The main question I get when someone sees my pants for the first time is, "How did you make those?!?"  I thought I would answer the question here.  Now mind you, some of my methods are pretty old school and I'm self taught so all you professional graphic designers please don't make fun of me :) Here goes!

The company I use to make my pants is called  Printful Inc.  They have a very user friendly website, and a mock up generator so I can see how my design is going to look ahead of time.

So my first step is to make the design I want on my pants.  For my yoga pants specifically I have designed a template on (here is where I get old school) Windows Paint program.  It works, it is very easy to use and there is no extra fee to use it.  This is my template below, then I fill in the white part with my preferred image.

To find an image I go to a couple different websites:

Donation Plan

I want to give you all a rundown of how I plan to donate 100% of the profit from the items in my shop, so you know where the money goes and when.

Right now while Yogescape is new and I'm still getting the word out I plan on donating to the chosen organizations once a year.  When that time comes I would like to announce how much, and where the funds were donated.  As Yogescape grows and more sales come in, then I may decide to donate bi-annually or quarterly.  I would like to get the money to the organizations sooner, than later so it can get to helping people.

To see what organizations I support you can look at the item description in the shop link or scroll to the bottom of my 'contact us' page here.

Yoga Leggings - 100% of the profits are donated to an organization the is the same region as the design on the pants.  For example: The profits from my New York City Yoga Leggings will be donated to an organization called New York City Relief that is based in NYC.

Climbing Out of Homelessness

I came across an amazing organization while I was looking for a place to donate the profits from my Mount Rainier Yoga Leggings, and this organization couldn't be more perfect!  In fact, it really gave me a feeling that I am definitely on the right path of my Yogescape mission.

Climbing Out of Homelessness is a program brought to us by the Recovery Beyond Paradigm Non Profit Service Group.  You can read more about it and the founding story here, but I'd like to give you a short summary.

Simply put it is a program where people off the streets are offered the opportunity to literally climb out of homelessness by training for eight months to physically climb Mount Rainier.  Then after the eight months, they do it! A lot of these participants do not believe they have any worth, or that they can not doing anything to better their situation or that they are not worthy of anything better because of some past choices.  The training provided helps change those negative mindsets, and h…

Let's Help Hawaii

With the volcano erupting on the Big Island and earthquakes still happening, many people are left without homes.  I've designed a pair of leggings where for the next twelve months 100% of the profits are going to go towards the Volcano Victim Relief fund hosted by the Salvation Army.  After twelve months the profits from this design will go to a local organization that helps the homeless community on the Big Island.

Flagstaff Shelter Services

I found an amazing organization to donate the profits to from my pants that feature designs in Northern Arizona: Antelope Canyon, Antelope Canyon Collage, Lake Powell, Sedona and Grand Canyon.
The organization is called Flagstaff Shelter Services, and from what I’ve read it looks like they go above and beyond to help the homeless community.

Here are the services they provide:

My Mission

For the last couple years I have been sort of studying the ends and outs of social media platforms, marketing programs and other software that is readily available for people to use to create a brand.  I've done everything from launching products all the way to self publishing a book that I was able to get into many major online retailers all from my phone and/or laptop.  The point is, is that with the internet and these very accessible programs one individual now has the capability to reach millions at their fingertips.  I have the capability to reach millions, and... I want to.  I want to make a difference somewhere in this world, make a positive change, help.

I've used some of these online mediums to express myself artistically, and ended up creating a very small business designing and selling Yoga pants.  My pants feature beautiful landscape scenes of nature and our environments.  I always joke that it is a fun way to "get into nature".  I love everything about …
